Furnace Problems and Furnace Recalls-Furnace Service Alerts

Not all manufacturers are the same. Some don't do as good a job as others in manufacturing their forced air heaters and some don't even bother to try to train the HVAC installers in the best methods to install those furnaces.

Broken furnace service alerts and furnace fix recalls are sometimes voluntary and sometimes at the end of judges gavel. This website deals with both.

Defective Furnaces Can Harm You!

Your furnace firebox can be a dangerous placeEvery single furnace and every single heater, gravity heater, forced air heater, sealed combustion box heater, heat pump, electronic ignition furnace, hot surface ignition furnace, radiant furnace, strip heat furnace and hydronic heating furnace (water furnace) is, sooner or later going to give you a problem. They are mechanic devices that can cycle as many as a thousand times a year. They wear out and you can be left with a broken furnace.

It is those broken furnaces, non working forced air furnaces or otherwise, that are breaking down rapidly after being put into service or those heaters, forced air heaters or otherwise, that cause dangerous situations when they break that we are concerned with. We also want to know if the manufacturers of those dangerous furnaces behaved in a responsible manner or did they behave in a “money first” manner and covered up their furnace recalls or put off their furnace recalls in order to avoid fiscal responsibility.Defective attic heaters, attic furnaces can burn a home down

This web page is all about dangerous furnaces and dangerous air conditioners. It isn’t about performance and truth in advertising concerning those force air heating systems. It isn’t about saying one gas furnace is more comfortable than another gas furnace or one electric furnace puts out more heat than another electric furnace and it isn’t about evaluating the noise that those furnaces produce.

Just about every bit of information that you will find on this page is available for free right across the Internet for all gas furnace owners and electric furnace owners to find themselves. I have just taken this furnace recall information and furnace alert information and packaged it up to make it readily accessible.

A recalled furnace must be repaired or the furnace replacedEvery forced air heater service alert is not here as there are way too many and most of them don’t really have much to do with safety at all. If you find your home’s forced air furnace, electric furnace or gravity furnace (wall furnace, floor furnace or basement furnace) listed on this page please call a reliable heating company to have it checked out for safety. That phone call for service may end up saving your life.

The pictures of the forced air heaters may or may not be the actual ones in the recall or service alert campaigns. I have provided an accurate when possible and a copy of the actual Consumer Product Safety Commission notice when possible in a pdf format. If I was able to get a hold of the litigation paperwork I included that here as well. I am not judging these furnaces for you. I am only providing you information so that you can judge them for yourself. When you purchase a forced air heater and have a Heating and Air Conditioning company put it into your home it is you and your family that needs to be satisfied with the installation and performance.

Many of these recalls involve third party furnace manufacturers that private labeled the furnaces for a variety of companies. Many furnace companies and big box retailers claim to have their own brand of forced air heaters, but in reality they only buy another company's product and stick their own labels on it just before reselling it the consumer with a marked up price tag.

Visit our glossary and discover the language of heating and air conditioning.

Not all furnaces and air conditioners that have recall notices are dangerous to use and not all heating and air conditioning systems that have suffered defects in manufacturing are a problem to repair. The majority of the defects displayed here, on the manufacturer's web sites and on the Consumer Product Safety Commission are issues that need to addressed. To be safe you should have your heating and air conditioning system checked out every year by a trained Comfort Certified heating and air conditioning technician.

If your furnace, your air handler, or your gas heating unit is on this list I suggest that you promptly turn it off, shut the gas off, and unplug it and give us a call to verify whether or not you have a dangerous furnace.

(877) 247-6426

Not all forced air furnaces are sold in all areas and just because a furnace manufacturer has one or more furnaces on service alert or on recall does not mean that ll of that manufacturer's furnaces are defective and unsafe. The only way to know for sure is to give us a call and set up an appointment for us to check out your furnace.

Your life may depend upon it.

"...I want to thank you for the prompt service you delivered....your man performed very well. His work ethic and his skill deserve recognition for a job well done."

Robert Wagner

"...service was excellent and your employees Keith and Barry were very courteous and seemed well trained. We were not only satisfied with the installation of the furnace, but their cleanup of materials as afterward. We most highly recommend them based upon the quality of service that they provided us."

David and Beatrice Blair

"We discovered that our furnace needed to be completely removed and replaced. It was done in less than a day. They were helpful, friendly and very professional. I would recommend them in a minute and we will continue to use Empire for and job"
